Cell Phone Compatibility
All new LightSPEED headsets are shipped with a cell phone patch cord which has what is commonly known as a ‘2.5mm universal headset’ plug. This plug connects directly to the ‘handsfree headset’ jack on many phones; however there are some phones which require an adapter to connect the patch cord. The key to determine if your phone needs an adapter is the ‘handsfree headset’ connection on the phone. If it’s a small round jack there is a good possibility it will accept the patch cord provided. We have found that all Nokia and many Nextel & Samsung phones require an adapter, along with the Motorola V3 Razr. Most other manufacturer’s phones utilize the ‘universal 2.5mm headset’ connection. LightSPEED Aviation stocks two adapters which work with some Nokia phones and one for the Motorola V3 Razr. These are available for $10 from our webstore or by calling us.Other adapters, commonly referred to as a “2.5mm handsfree headset adapter” for your specific model phone, are available from a number of sources which may include your local cell service provider’s store or online vendors.
