INFO

More pilots use FAA Knowledge Exam preparation materials produced by ASA than all other competing products combined. Now ASA's 'Prepware' puts their popular Knowledge Exam Prep Guides on interactive CD-ROM, creating the fastest and easiest way for you to prepare for your FAA Knowledge Exams.

With Prepware, you only study the portion of the test that applies to your specific situation: all questions are sorted by the type of test (initial rating/certificate or add-on rating) and by the aircraft category (airplane, rotorcraft, lighter-than-air and glider). And Prepware's question banks are organized by subject matter (Aerodynamics, Weather, Regulations, etc.) so you can coordinate your study with chapters in your textbook...just read a chapter in your manual and then take the FAA test questions that apply to that subject matter. And Prepware has features competing products don't.

Features:

  • Compatible with both PC and Macintosh systems.
  • CX-2 electronic flight computer is built into the program, accessed
by a click of a button during study sessions or simulated tests.
  • Make and save user notes while studying, in a notes field.
  • 'Google'-like search capabilities...search for a word or phrase in
the entire database of questions, answers, and explanations.
  • Simulates the CATS testing center in screen layout, buttons,
    program navigation.
  • You can choose to print results, or email them to instructors to
obtain endorsement to take the FAA test.
  • Built-in study guides are there at a click of a button for study
sessions, with the same comprehensive text and figures from
ASA's Test Preps and Fast-Track Test Guides.
  • All CT-8080 Test Figures are available onscreen. (The paper version of the supplement no longer comes with the Prepware)
  • Download and automatically update the database each time the
FAA releases new or changed questions; also, the free email
subscription service keeps you informed anytime a change is made.
  • Prepware School provides the ability to track
performance history for up to 200 students and issue custom
quizzes to an individual or the whole class.

Explanations: All test prep programs give you test questions and answers, but Prepware includes explanations for each answer, including why the incorrect answers are wrong.

FAA 'Computerized Testing Supplements': Some test prep programs make you pay extra to view the FAA's graphs, charts, figures and maps, or make you look them up in a book, but Prepware includes them right with the appropriate test question.

Printable Study Briefings: Prepware includes a printable pre-test instructional briefing for each topic. The briefing covers all the information you'll need to pass the questions pertaining to that topic.

Choose Immediate or Delayed Feedback: In Prepware's Study Mode, you can view the correct answer and explanations immediately after you answer each question. In Test Mode, your answers are graded after all of the questions are answered. Test Mode generates random FAA questions to simulate the FAA test, providing an unlimited number of different test combinations, and gives you a limited time to answer them.

Progress Tracking: Your study is tracked by Prepware so you don't repeat sections you've already passed.

Graphical Performance Summary: After taking a sample test in Test Mode, a graph displays an analysis of each subject area, displaying Green for areas you passed with a minimum score of 70%, yellow for those areas where you scored 50-69%, and red for areas where you missed more than 50% of the questions. (A minimum score of 70% is required to pass the actual FAA test.) One look at the graph, and you know on which areas you need to concentrate your study.

Includes ASA's 'Quizmaker' software: Generate pop quizzes or tests using FAA Knowledge Exam questions. In study mode, you can generate a pop quiz, of any length, on specific subject matters. In the testing mode, random FAA questions are computer-selected to simulate the FAA test.

Quizmaker allows you to:

  • Print the test including the question and A, B, C answer stems,
date, and even a space for a student's name and class section.
  • Print an answer sheet with the A, B, C blocks available for the
student to color in the correct response, date, and space for
    student name and class section.
  • Print a master answer sheet set-up in the same format as the
students' answer sheet, with the answers included, so you can
lay the master sheet over the answer sheet for quick grading.
